“If You Fail to Plan for Success, You Are Planning to Fail”.
Look at successful people around, what do you think they do differently? Good Planning is one of them.
Success planning involves your organized thoughts and strategic plans to foster success in whatever you aim to achieve.
Your success plan keeps you fastened to your goals relentlessly but without a success plan, you run the risk of hitting the wall.
Plans to be successful in life are an integral part of your success this is why successful people are seen to make effective plans to excel.
In his book “Think and Grow Rich” Napolean Hill wrote, Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you ready or not, to put this plan into action.
How then do you know if you are making the right plans to succeed?
How to plan for success
The super keys for success planning.
1. Know what you want
A lot of people go out there with a general term of success in mind. They intend to succeed but through what? What does success mean to you?
A heightened career
Large businesses
Educational achievements…Etc.
Planning for success means being able to sieve through the noise and focus on what truly matters to you. This is what Napoleon Hill likes to call your major chief aim.
Now to the next step for success,
2. Identify your purpose.
When you find your WHY, you don’t hit snooze anymore! You find a way to make it happen! Eric Thomas
When you discover purpose, you find joy and satisfaction in working and this motivates you to work better thus improving your productivity and success. Purpose brings fulfillment.
To achieve your major goal, the first step is to write down your major definite purpose also known as a definite chief aim. Napoleon Hill
Prepare thoroughly
Fortune favours the prepared.
I learnt an important key for success years ago, Always be prepared.
Say you are walking down the streets and someone bumps into you with an opportunity you have been looking for but wants to ask relevant questions, will you be able to answer satisfactorily?
If you are aiming for success, then live like the opportunity for time-light comes today.
How to stay prepared
Since you now know what you want, then you know what to focus on.
Focus squarely on what you want. The more streamlined your focus is the sharper your sight and the better your target. Focus has power
Knowledge up. Acquire the specialized knowledge you need even if this means taking extra courses and reading more books.

3. Do your research.
If you intend to succeed in a particular thing, carry out in-depth research to familiarize yourself with its peculiarities.
How will you succeed at something you lack adequate understanding about? Start researching
4. Reflect
This option involves a lot of thinking and consideration.
Reflection is a means to separate yourself and ponder upon your desires, your passion, your longing and your intent.
Reflecting also helps you identify the areas you are wasting time on.Reflecting helps you identify specific areas to bring to your radar.
When making a success plan you need to self-reflect occasionally because a lot of times people get carried away by challenges, new exciting things and just any distractions.

Show me a successful person who did it all by themselves. For instance: When you create a killer product, you need people to buy it. If people do not buy it, you make zero sales.
When you are planning for success, be willing to get help from expert counsel.
In the multitude of counsellors, a purpose is established.
6. Solve a problem
One sure way to succeed is by creating a solution to a problem. Look around you, what problems are paramount? What do people look for? When you look, you will see.
4 Things humans will pay for.
It relieves stress/pain
It increases productivity
It increases health
It creates more time
How do you know if you have a reasonable solution to a problem?
Is it scalable?
Can it be easily recreated?
Is it in high demand?

7. Browse for available opportunities
When making a success plan, browse for opportunities in your focus area.
Say you plan to achieve educational heights, search for scholarships and apply. This lightens the financial burden off you.
Or if you are a start-up, search for grants and apply. This eases your business funding.
Start searching out for opportunities you can leverage on.
8. Write down your vision
A tip for writing an effective success plan is writing down your vision clearly. As simple as this may sound to you, it is effective.
When you write things down they become clearer and more intentional. Get a journal, and down your vision, your mission statement(s), your objectives and soon enough you have a definite plan for success.
A success plan is subjective, meaning it varies from person to person, from goal to goal. At the day’s end, it depends on how much clarity you have. The more clarified you are, the better your plan. Make a success plan when you have the tiniest idea, it gets clearer in time.

Set SMART goals.
The acronym SMART stands for
S- Specific
A goal must be specific to be successful. A specific objective responds to issues like:
What tasks must be completed?
Who is in charge of it?
M- Measurable
A SMART goal must be quantifiable, this makes it easier to track your progress.
The “Measurable” objective answers the question “by how much”.
How many sales to make? How many books to read? How much progress?
A- Achievable
At this point, you conduct a reality test. Cancel out extraneous demands you have stated.
Goals must be attainable to enhance their success. Be reasonable when setting your goals.
R- Relevant
You need to consider the big picture at this point. What is the primary essence of setting this goal? Is it within reach and relevant to my general aim?
T- Time-bound
To measure success, give your goal a time frame. 2 weeks, 6 months, 1 year the time frame depends on your capacity and the size of your goal.
A goal without a time frame is just a wish.
When making a success plan you need to set SMART goals.

Until next time.
Success is a conscious decision, and most likely comes to those you prepare for it deliberately. Congratulations on planning for your success. I’m rooting for you.
